I wish I had a picture of the mess Landon created today, but I had to act fast on this one. He scales the kitchen drawers. Climbs right up onto the kitchen counter and helps himself to whatever looks fascinating. Today, it was an open jam jar. He just scooped it out and ate it. It was all over him and all over the drawers because he was too excited to climb all the way up, so he hung out on the second shelf and ate. Give that boy just 5 minutes....
You know he recently climbed up, no, pushed the chair over and got up to the medicine/vitamin cabinet and took some medicine that's slipping my mind right now, at least I think he did because I couldn't find them. And, he took one of my vitamins. SICK. Does he know those don't taste good!? That was a fun day on the phone with poison control. Turned out to be no big deal.
On the Sophie side of things, we're doing well. I'm less stressed about this upcoming year and so incredibly grateful for Erin and Alaina and my mom-in-law sharing their perspectives. I've talked to lots of friends who put their kids in early and never looked back, so it was good to hear from the opposite side. It looks like she may just be doing dance and Let's Play Music and lots of fun workbooks at home. I told her every time we hit a hundred more books on her Goodreads Shelf, she can pick something new that's academic out. I bought her a set of Fancy Nancy books a while back on Costco, so that's what she'll earn when she has 100 on the list.
Sophie got to spend the day with my cousin Richard's daughter, Delila. She's 6 months younger than Sophie and they played non-stop with no fighting! It was dreamy! Sophie's been dying to have her over for a while so it was nice that Richard needed someone to watch her today.
We attempted to have fun at the new splash park in EM. NONE of them were into it. The water is very cold and there was a bit of wind, so we were only there for about 20 minutes. LAME
OH PS, Landon climbs out of his crib quite regularly now. Tomorrow, we're switching the kids doorknobs. Landon's currently doesn't latch, so we'll put Sophie's on so we can lock him in. It freaks me out when little ones can get out of their rooms at night when there are stairs around. I guess we could put the gate up, but I need him locked in to take a nap. Today I locked him in Sophie's room and he played forever until he crashed on the floor. When he woke up, I tried explaining to him that he needs to get in a bed when he's tired. I don't think he could care less.
Looking forward to more adventures tomorrow!

We turned Ben's doorknob around, so we could lock him in. Matt and I aren't comletly comfortable doing this, but we are more uncomfortable with him being able to just get out if not locked in. We tried the gate, but he figured out he could run into the gate a time or 2 and knock it over. Good Luck!
