Why Am I Blogging?!

Mr. Man lookin all cute in his sister's bootsies.

For the first half of the year, I did way too much for others and let myself go all in the name of the greater good. I wasn't completely out of whack, but enough so that I'm being hard-core self care girl right now. Here is my plan for the next 8 week:

My Success Commitment”

Nisha Riggs July 11, 2011

My goal is to for the next 8 Weeks:

  • sleep 7 hours at night

  • read something uplifting 15 minutes each day

  • journal daily (aka blog)

  • avoid all junk food/soda/dessert/white flour/white sugar for the next 8 weeks with the exception of a couple times a month eating toast with Nutella or pb/cinnamon/maple popcorn

  • drink 64 ounces of water daily

  • take my AM and PM supplements daily

  • exercise at least 45 minutes per day/6 days a week

  • eat at least 2 servings of fruit/3 servings of veggies per day

  • complete an act of random kindness daily

My goal is to do the above things so that I can feel amazing and have the energy I need to be an effective and deliberate mom, be a genuine and authentic example to those following my advice, and so that I can look like one hot wife in my skinny jeans.

So far, we're 4 for 4 rockstar, 100% perfecto! I am giving myself one "free day" a week although I may not choose to use it. For sure I will when we go camping next weekend because I LOVE S'MORES and roasting marshmallows. But, I am completely committed and enjoying it. I have a few ideas of races I want to run in September and October and I even signed up for a free sprint-triathlon. Kinda hard to do it when you don't know how to swim properly, but I'm going to learn! My running partner swam all growing up, so she's going to teach me. I also don't own a bike, ha! But, my neighbor's letting me borrow hers while she's out of town for a month or so.

There is a 10K that I've been wanting to run for quite a while called the Love Your Body race and it's just for women. I obviously love what it's all about and it's through Thanksgiving Point Gardens, so it will be beautiful. I'm definitely doing that one. And I'm definitely doing the tradition of the Halloween Fun Run 5k, but this time, I'm sprinting the heck out of that thing.

Said running partner wants to do a half and we're training for a half, but I can't find a good one to participate in. We're pretty much limited to Sept and October and since we're going to Disneyland, the only one I have to choose is totally downhill - from Sundance to Shops at Riverwoods and I think that would kill my knees so bad it would end running for me forever...so, I may have to wait to run a half marathon until next spring.

If anyone wants to join us at those races, come!!! The Love Your Body race also has a 6k. Would've been 5, but it was easier to make a 6k route through the gardens than 5.
