SWIMMING

Today, I decided to face my fears and try swimming for exercise. Crazy me decided to sign up for a triathlon. I have exercise ADD so I thought I'd completely change it up. Umm.....hello?! I don't know how to properly swim nor do I own a bike. Yeah...I'm a great tri-athlon candidate :)

So, in running, I typically focus on breathing in through my nose and out through my mouth. It's the opposite in swimming. In running, you keep your eye on what's in front of you so you don't get hurt. In swimming, you keep your head down or to the side for a breath, not straight ahead of you. Good thing my workout partner was on swim team growing up. I felt like she was giving pointers like a golf instructor would try to help you with your golf swing. Very technical.....of course like anyone else, I thought, I'm crazy. I hate swimming for exercise, why am I doing this?

Well, because it's on my bucket list and right now, I'm all for a BIG gigantic challenge.

My words to all you who swim - rock on girlfriend! We'll see if I can manage a flip turn without getting water in my nose in about 3 weeks. oh yeah....

You hate swimming?!?!?! I would rather swim then run!! I used to be pro at those flip turns. When do you guys go and do your laps? I want to come!
