1st Experience Camping

I didn't take my camera :( Sorry, but sometimes I purposefully leave the cameras at home so I can just enjoy the experience without trying to get a good shot.

Sophie hasn't been camping since she was 16 months and of course she doesn't remember that, so she was excited for this trip. Every year, my Aunt MaryLou hosts a Ewell Family Reunion. This is my maternal Grandmothers side of the family. Mary Lou is my grandma's sister who is 20 years younger than she, so MaryLou, even though my Great Aunt, has kids our age, so it's fun to get together with them. MaryLou lives in Nephi and has a cabin about 10 minutes East of the freeway in Nephi. It's a beautiful area and they have just a small 1 bedroom cabin with a loft, a full kitchen and full bathroom. They built an outdoor pavilion that also has an additional stove, refrigerator, sink, etc. as well as a bathroom and shower room. It's a perfect place to camp! They have a volleyball court and playground for the kiddos and the BEST hill for slip-n-sliding.

We slept in a tent...well, I slept in the tent with the kids on mats (thank goodness MaryLou has a bunch of fold up mats stocked in the cabin. Daddy slept on his hammock in the trees next to us. I think Landon was a little freaked out when he realized we were sleeping in the tent, but he settled down after about 5 minutes. We let them stay up until around 11:00 and they didn't wake up until 7:30, thank goodness! It was chilly at night, but we stayed warm. The kids LOVED playing on the playground and loved it even more when my Aunt Susan and her kids came on Saturday. My mom's youngest sister has a daughter who is a few months younger than Sophie and they were in Let's Play Music together last year and have lots of fun together.

It was a fabulous time and I think we'll make it our annual one-nighter campout! We can't handle our kids being sleep deprived for more than one night. They are way too cranky. But, it's worth it once a year.

Adam's off work tomorrow. I'm taking the kids for a bike ride in the morning and then hoping to get a TON of housework done. Wish me luck!!! My house is filthy!
