BUCKET LIST ADDITIONs and a secret...

My bucket list up until now is centered much around myself and my family - Adam, Sophie, and Landon. I've thought of a few more things I want to add to the list to honor my friends and family outside of my immediate family who I love and cherish.

I bought NieNie's 2011 Calendar. You know it's going to be so stinkin cute!

I'm going to use it for the sole purpose of keeping track of the birthdays of people who I want to be sure to let know how much I love them on their special day. One bad part of technology and getting older is that you rarely get birthday cards in the mail anymore :( I remember getting birthday cards from my grandparents in the mail all growing up - which for me, having a birthday right after Christmas, was a big deal. I don't know if I can keep it up every year. It would be really expensive, but I want to do it for all of next year. A lot of the goals on my bucket list, I know, won't be checked off for a few years, so this is one I know I can accomplish next year, especially if I spend some time up front gathering addresses and making sure I have cards on hand.

Another thing I'm adding to the list is to watch 12 of the all-time best chick flicks with girlfriends in one year. I've been able to host girls night often since Adam has been teaching at night and we've been doing crafts. I want to make sure I get that much needed girlfriend time next year too! Adam's taking a term off from teaching because his regular day job gets insane crazy during the holidays and he'll be working a lot of overtime. I don't know if he'll teach again afterward, but setting this goal will be more reason to make girls night a priority!

And now...the secret! SHHHH...I'm only telling you guys :) I am currently using ReVabs (the newest workout DVD set from Beachbody - who also created P90X, Insanity, Hip Hop Abs, etc.). Jamie and I have been doing P90X, so we're in pretty good shape. We did ReVabs for the first time yesterday and I'm SO sore today. I'm not even kidding you. It literally kicked our butts and it was fun. I'm giving away a set on Thanksgiving Day! I also am giving away a $25 giftcard to Harmons on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. Well...that's when I'm announcing the giveaways anyway. I haven't decided yet when the deadline for entries will be. ReVabs retails for $85 on Amazon, so it's a sweet giveaway! Now you know to watch out for this Thanksgiving week on Healthy Mom's Kitchen!

This is one of my goals for next year too. I am already thinking of designing some cards, making a LOT, and having a list handy of my friends birthdays. You are right, with the internet we get fewer cards. And I love remembering birthdays.
