STOP THE SASSY PANTS!

Prince Jaidon pushing Princess Sophie in her royal throne.

Oh my gosh. A few of my friends who have girls about a year older than Sophie have said for quite some time that 3 is so much harder than 2 with girls. Of course, Sophie's always been an angel. Until the last few days. She's 3 1/2 and that girl is starting to whip out the sassssssssssss. She's a nut, really. This a.m., Adam came downstairs to grab breakfast before heading out the door to go to work (at 6 a.m. bless his heart :) and guess who was sitting at the computer PLAYING?! Yeah, my little independent diva. She comes downstairs every morning as soon as she wakes up, turns on the computer, launches Firefox, and plays PBSKids, NickJr, Barbie.com...whatever was the last game that she played the day before because it automatically loads. If she's hungry, she grabs a cheese stick out of the bottom drawer of the fridge. Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful for the extra sleep, but if she came into my room before sunrise to let me know she was up, I'd get her behind back in bed! So, I know part of the reason for her sassiness is caused by fatigue, but it's really getting on my last nerve. She did say this afternoon that she got up in the middle of the night (meaning before the sun was up and it was dark) and that she wasn't going to do that again.

There's hope, right?!

The other day, I was thinking it was because I wasn't giving her enough attention, so today, I literally did nothing but hang with my kids, except for a few hours when we had to run to Salt Lake, but she still had issues. So, no mother guilt here. It doesn't matter what I do.

Heckatootie. Any suggestions?

None from me, I havent hit that stage with a girl period, let alone 3 years. :) Korver has had a rough week, I think its cause Nate is gone, I just dont want to deal with it. :( Good luck friend!!

We put a gate in Ally's doorway that way she couldn't come out of her room and wake everyone up. Then we put a clock in her room and showed her what time it needed to be before she could come out, works like a charm for us. She now comes out every morning at 7am. Better than 5am. Good Luck.

No girls here, but plenty of early risers. It's a good day when nothing gets broken before I wake-up! Maybe unplug the computer or put a password on it?

I make Luke do all his work before anything screen in the morning--get dressed, make breakfast for the boys, eat, brush his teeth & walk the dogs. He usually gets it all done before 8:00. He's driven and ambitious, just needs direction. ( =

Good luck!!

I'm pretty sure this is not exclusive to girls, since Garett is by far the sassiest member of our family! Not that the girls were easy at this age, but Garett is WAY mouthier than they EVER were or are. Here's to getting through another fun phase....
