I RETIRE!

Every now and then, I feel like maybe my kid is missing out because she doesn't have a mom that enjoys doing "cool mom" things, like making sugar cookies or melting broken crayons into shapes. And sometimes randomly, I decide to do those "cool mom" things, only to make the worst (and only) sugar cookies I've ever made and then to nearly burn down my house when said crayons catch fire in the oven.
I officially retire my idea of "cool mom." When I feel like my kid needs to do some sugar cookie making, I'll send her to my sisters. And when both our kids decide to explore their entrepreneurial spirit, I'll teach them how to run a successful lemonade stand or start a babysitters club. I will never ever again compare myself to other moms and know that someday, my talents in business will be much needed and appreciated by my sweet kids. Until then, we'll stick to coloring with normal crayons, Play-Doh, watercolors, etc. Things you BUY that are fun-ready. Okay? okay.

Can I just say I'm so grateful for baking soda and middle school home economics for teaching me to throw baking soda on fire? And, I'm nervous to ever turn on the oven again?! EEK.

Nisha, you are a super cool mom! Sophie and Landon are so lucky to have you raising them. You do a great job with your kids!

Nisha you are too funny. You're an amazing woman. And you're right we all have our own talents, but I think that most important part of this story is that you were willing to go out of your comfort zone to give your kiddos a new experience. And they even maybe learned about fire safety.
