Indeed! Yesterday was MOST lovely. For starters, it was bright and shiny and the clock said 8:00 when my kiddos woke up (yes, granted that is normal since we just changed the clocks, but nice to see the 8 on the clock)!!
The morning was casual and after lunch we headed to Thanksgiving Point!!! We met our darling friends Kris and Toby and hit up both the Dino Museum and Farm Country. My annual pass is about to expire, so I'm glad we were able to make it to both places. Landon slept through the Dino Museum and then was as happy as can be in the stroller during Farm Country.
Sophie fell asleep on the way home and my wonderful hubs cooked dinner while I went for a run. This is the FIRST time I've run by myself ever (CRAZY - I KNOW!!). I LOVE to run not for the mere fact of running, but for the socialization. I run with my friend Jodi and it's great girlfriend bonding time. I also run for the obvious health benefits, but more for vanity. Nothing has ever made my legs look better :) So, the fact that I went for a run by myself seemed daunting at first (did I mention I did it sans iPod?), but then I hit the pavement and looked up at the snow capped mountains and thought of 70 year old Werner Berger who is the oldest North American to summit Mt. Everest. How's that for inspiration?! Lucky for me, no matter what direction I'm running, I have snow-capped mountains in my view and if Werner can take 56 days to climb to the tippie-top of Mt. Everest, by golly, I can run for 20 minutes straight by myself. So, I talked to myself. I talked about how amazing Werner is and I told myself (yeah, I even used 2nd person) it would be cool if I was still running at age 70 and I thought about my heart beating and working that muscle so I could live a long and healthy life and I told myself I was strong. I kept my eye on the top of whatever mountain was in sight and it was the BEST run I've had all year. I ran further and I had NO knee pain. Thank you glucosamine...I love you very much :) I talked to myself about many other things, all positive and lovely and very dreamy. Because, while I don't love the simple act of putting one foot in front of the other faster than walking and going up and down inclines, I LOVE a healthy body and thinking about living a long and healthy life....and I don't mind talking to myself one bit. Because let's face it. We all have a voice inside our head anyway. We might as well make it our biggest cheerleader.
P.S. Tuesday's high is 59 and Wednesday, 58. There is a bit of rain in the 10 day forecast, but it's in the 50s for the next 10 days. Think I'm happy and elated about that? OH YEAH!!!!

I guess I'm on the opposite spectrum - I haven't run with anyone since high school cross country...the streets are definitely calling my name on days like these! :)
you are AMAZING! Running is great for you! But me...i will stick to putting one foot in front of the other walking. Glad you had a great day!
Sounds like a good day!
LOVE this post Nisha!
