Not that I'm an unhappy person. I'm not at all, it's just AMAZING what sunshine does for the soul! This post isn't going to focus on me however, but my wonderful husband.
Adam is a graphic designer and has been working from home doing contract work pretty much since we moved to Eagle Mountain. He gets a small amount of sporadic work from an LDS book publisher, Millenial Press and does random small jobs for family and close friends. His main client that provides his full-time income, however, has been struggling and we found out at the beginning of February that they would no longer be able to use Adam's talent. So, yesterday, we got our last paycheck from them. That client had been lovely and cushy for us, so we are sad to see it end, but knew it could happen any time for about the last six months.
So, rewind a couple years when we were at a career crossroads. We almost moved to Indiana so Adam could go to school to get a Masters in Education and become a high school English teacher. We found our dream home there, found a great school for Adam to go to, but could not find a good job for him to work while he was getting his Masters. So, we ended up staying here and sticking it out with graphic design for longer.
This time around, with the stinky economy, we have decided to pursue Adam's desire to become a teacher. Today was a GREAT day because we found out that he meets all the requirements for the English Endorsement. Tomorrow, Adam is mailing in his application to Alternative Route to Licensure. Our intention is for him to be teaching this Fall! We feel like many things have led up to this point and we're so excited to move forward with this. Send prayers our way that he gets accepted to ARL and finds a job!! Adam will be a great teacher and coach.

I really hope that everything works out for Adam and your family! Good luck!
And I totally agree...it's amazing what a little sunshine can do! :)
That is wonderful--we will be praying for you all! Getting my license as a teacher was fabulous. I've always been glad I have it, even if I've only used it on my four-person classroom at this point. Congratulations!
Congratulations Adam! I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers as you begin this journey. You will be a terrific teacher and coach!
