EMOTIONAL yet joyful DAY

Today was the PERFECT day! I love Fridays. I don't usually have anything scheduled on Fridays, so it's a day I can just focus on my kids. The day started off with Landon's 6 month appointment (a little bittersweet that he's growing up so fast!). Sophie stayed home to color while Daddy slept in and she continued to color after I got home while Landon and I napped. That girl sure loves artwork of any kind.

Landon is still a skinny little thing. Only 2 percentile for weight and 56th for height. I'm going to start feeding him cereal twice a day and we'll start exploring fruits and veggies. I'm hoping that this will help get him on a regular nap schedule and sleeping better at night. Still no teeth yet, but he is all over the place. He can get where he wants to go pretty fast with a combination of rolling and army crawling. I am realizing more and more each day that what was considered baby proof for Sophie is not going to cut it with Landon. This little man is quite the explorer and doesn't sit still for very long. I think my favorite thing about him is seeing him mimmick Sophie. A few times a week, we have family snuggle time. We all pile into our bed and we'll chill out for just a few minutes before it turns into an all-out wrestling match. Sophie is screaming and giggling and having so much fun. Landon has quickly learned what "family snuggle time" means and is a pro at attacking and squealing. Landon's absolute favorite thing is for daddy to chase he and I. He just loses it and giggles his head off. It's the cutest thing EVER!! Today was filled with so much laughter and family time. I absolutely love being a mom and a wife and adore Sophie, Landon and my wonderful Adam more than I could have ever imagined.

It was such a "grateful for my family" day, that reading THIS post about the price of time with your kid and THIS post on birthday cakes made me a little emotional. Kids grow up w.a.y. TOO f.a.s.t!

I LOVE those days when being a mom and wife is so joyful and overwhelming, it makes me emotional--thanks for sharing Nisha!

I agree, kids grow up way too fast! I can't believe that Landon is already 6 months!!! I wish that time would slow down so that we could enjoy our kiddos longer.
