.....

Today, we ran to Home Depot to try and make some decisions on the flooring for our main floor (kitchen and living room). We ended up being there a LONG time, so we stopped to eat before coming home. Adam and I continued our conversation about flooring and work that needs to be done today. During a quiet time in our conversation, Sophie turns to me and says, "what's 'regarding'?" (Adam had said the word in our conversation) I told her it's means "about" and she said, "Oh I want to do that." I told her she didn't quite understand what the word meant.

Are all two year olds this inquisitive?

Back to Cancun....yes, I'll post more photos later. Here's the quick rundown. We arrived at about 7 PM Sunday night to Casa Maya, a beautiful resort with condo-like rooms, so we had a kitchen (no oven, but everything else). The living room had a Murphy bed, so Sophie got to sleep in there and the bedroom had two double beds, so Adam and I got our own beds. Yeah....we're not snugglers. We like to sprawl out! Plus, Landon was in my bed half the time. The resort had three 1/2 pools, two hot tubs and was right on the beach, so we really had no reason to leave. The first day, we went to WalMart for groceries and a sand castle set. One night we went into town for dinner and one day was spent at Isla Mujeres. The rest of the time, we seriously just kicked back at the pool and built sandcastles. They had regular entertainment every day so a few times we played in the dart competition (Sophie and I both never got a dart on the board - hahahaha!) and we played Mexican Lotteria (kind of like bingo). We played a little soccer and that's it. Incredibly relaxing but a lot of fun too. The other great thing about this resort is that they do provide maid service. To my knowledge, most timeshares do not offer this. So, it was great!! We will definitely return to this resort in the future.

For me, as a mom, it was lovely. Adam shared in all the cooking and childcare. For him, he didn't think it was as relaxing because he was doing more than he usually does at home (helping with the kids). It's interesting how different our perspectives are. I'm not saying he didn't love every bit of it, but he would rather wait to take another vacation like that until the kids are older. That will be a tough one, though since I'm a vacation addict :) I love exposing my kids to new places and cultures. Since we went when Americans are in school, most of the other vacationers were local, from Mexico or Ecuador. Sophie didn't have any friends there that could speak English to her, but she still played with other kids of all ages. Kids just speak the language of play, so it didn't matter. I could speak enough Spanish to the kids to ask them their names and how old they were and to tell them a little bit about Sophie.

Most of the pics are self-explanatory. The only one that has a good story with it are the ones with Sophie in the yellow bathing suit (I'll post more later, because they all have really great expressions on her face). Sophie was being very imaginative and hilarious. Daddy was having fun shooting hoops in the pool and I think I was feeding Landon. She was playing with her little fish floatie and my big pink lounge floatie. Hers was the kid and mine was the mommy and she was the voice for both. She was disciplining her fish floatie for jumping into the pool (she would throw it in). She kept running around the pool, based on where the floatie ended up and yelling at it. I guess we boss her too much because when she's pretending, she loves to boss.

Both my kids are sleeping right now and since that never happens, I'm going to bounce off of here and clean up the living room so we can get our Christmas tree up already. I found out this morning that they will likely get the basement done before they start on the main floor, so we should be safe to put the Christmas tree up and have it up through Christmas day! Hooray. There are currently no signs of Christmas in this house.

So glad to hear the rundown! I'm glad you and the family had fun...if Adam doesn't want to do anymore vacations like that in the foreseeable future, I'll take his place!

Haha I think all hubbies are like that when it comes to vacations and having to help out more with the kids. But I agree it is no reason to stop going!

Hi Nisha, this is Kris (we met yesterday, and I saw your blog on my gmail account and decided to come say hi.) Wow, your Cancun trip sounds AWESOME. Now I am trying to convince Nate (my hubby) to take Toby and I to Cancun too, hehe!!

If it's not too weird for you, since I know we haven't really "met" for realz, maybe we could get together for a playdate sometime. Toby really loves to play with other kids and would have a blast with Landon and Sophie (ps, I love her name!!) Toby just got a pass to Thanksgiving Point so we could play there sometime if you want. Hope you don't mind me blog crashing!
