BABY UPDATE
Just got back from what will hopefully be my LAST prenatal visit. I'm 1-2 cm dilated, 50% effaced, and at a -2 station/position (whatever they call it). Baby has dropped a lot. Baby also passed the non-stress test (thank goodness!). Midwife and I are thinking positively for a delivery this Saturday or Sunday. Stay tuned.....

At least you're showing progress! On my due date with Max (so I was super-emotional already - being overdue is hard), I had to go to the doctor (not my own, since my OB was out of the country) to not only have her tell me that I was at a 1 and maybe 30% effaced (like I said, on my DUE DATE), but also that I shouldn't plan to be able to do the all-natural, drug-free birth because 1st time moms underestimate what it'll be like. After I had Max, it took all the composure within me not to go and tell her what-for (and gloat a little since I had done what she said I couldn't) at my six-week postpartum appointment. Luckily, my OB was back by then. It could have gotten ugly.
Sorry, long comment. Anyway, hang in there! You're in the homestretch. BTW, have I told you the guaranteed way to tell that you're in labor - I can't believe I forgot to tell you. I'll email you - it's kinda gross.

p.s. Now that I know how to get to your house :) if I can do anything, let me know.
Things are definitely moving along. It won't be long now before you are holding your new little baby in your arms. How exciting!
