Sophie's birthday is actually December 31st, but I thought it would be more fun for her to have her birthday at the beginning of December (and easier for friends to come without the Christmas/New Years business). So, I had her birthday party on Friday. We just invited her cousins and a few friends from the neighborhood. They were ages 16 months to 4 1/2, so with such a range and being so young, I didn't plan a structured birthday party. Adam and I blew up 40 balloons the night before and when they arrived, they all just played with balloons. The biggest hit was putting the balloons in her tunnel and letting them crawl through. I've never seen my nephew Elijah so CRAZY EXCITED!!!! He was nuts :) In a fun cute way. Once I thought they might have had enough of balloons, we opened presents and I let all the kids help Sophie. She's not old enough to think no one else should touch. So, the kids split off and played with their favorite toys as they were opened. Sophie got some new markers, the little pipsqueek ones, so she wanted to color. I got all the kids coloring books that came with crayons as the party favor, so everyone colored while I made mac and cheese. We had lunch and cupcakes and it was over. Everyone had fun and it was super easy for me. Here is a slideshow of the fun day.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SOPHIE! I know, it's not until the end of the month...but I feel bad missing the party! We'll have to have a party when I can be there...just the two of us. Okay, Mommy, Daddy and Lise can come too! I love you!
Aw... That was fun! I am sorry Linus was a grump and had to go early.
Happy Birthday (early) looks like they all had fun. December birthdays are hard - my brothers birthday is on Christmas - he hated it.
What a good idea to have it early. My good friend's daughter has a Dec 31st birthday and she never knows how to celebrate.
Aaron turned 2 in August. I'm glad he sounds like a good talker to you, he's been slower at it than Luke was and it's made me worried. ( =
Looks like a great time!
Kira had so much fun, thanks for the invite!
