Well, little Miss Sophie made her appearance in front of the Pony Express Days baby contest judges. She was being so shy in front of the judges but loved playing with the other contestants! The theme of the festivities this year is Boot Scootin' Boogie. I didn't want to go spend any money on her outfit (I thought that would be a bit ridiculous), so Nana let us borrow a hankie that we tied around her shoulders that matched her red skirt and squeaky shoes. There were 10 finalists in her category (girls 15 - 18 months) and I couldn't believe how dolled up these girls were - big curls and bows and all decked out in cowgirl gear. I was a little embarrassed for the little tots who had no say in it. So, Sophie didn't win, but she sure was cute. A once in a lifetime thing. I don't think I'll do it again. I'm not into the big curls and frillynous of it all. For more details on the festival, click on the link above.
