Oprah's Big Give

Episode 107

I've got to hand it to her! Oprah's really outdone herself this time. If you haven't been watching, here's a synopsis of the show:

"In eight one-hour episodes, a diverse, determined and competitive group of ten people are given the challenge of a lifetime — to change the lives of complete strangers in the most creative and dramatic ways. In this intense competition, the contestants criss-cross the country, scrambling to find ways to impact the fates and fortunes of unsuspecting people who are in for the surprise of their lives. Lives will be changed in the blink of an eye as contestants race against time to create once-in-a-lifetime experiences and also give away hundreds of thousands of dollars. Who will be the lucky few to get a "Big Give"… and who will get all that cash?"

So, the show is down to the last three and the finale is next week. I've watched a lot of shows like this, Extreme Makeover Home Edition being one of my all time favorites, but Big Give brings tears to my eyes every time! I seriously cry every episode! The stories are heart-wrenching and I so wish I was a contestant and able to give BIG like that!! Adam hates Oprah and hasn't watched the show because he wrongly assumed it would be all about Oprah, but she's only on each episode for about 2 minutes each time and it really is just about giving big! I'm glad there are millionaire celebrities like her that are able to give like this and I think/hope that she sparks a movement of giving (especially amongst the celebrity crowd).

Anyway, if you've been watching, I'm anxious to hear what you think about who will win. I thought Brandy would've been the one to go home this week, but I think it's exciting that no one went home.

I think it's great that Oprah does a lot of great things for people for sure, however I do have to agree with Adam on the whole "everything is about Oprah thing" I mean she's the one taking all the credit, but is she really the one doing all the grunt work? Most times I just see "her people" doing all the work, but it is great that she is willing to share her money, then again is it for her benefit....I just don't know with her...It seems weird that she lets the WHOLE WORLD know when she gives an ipod away.

I love this show too! I also was sure that Brandi would be sent home. I think Steve will win.
