I miss this blog right now :)

I'm having anxiety right now because we are leaving town tomorrow for the FIRST TIME IN A YEAR! Did you read that? First time in a year?! You know...we Riggs people who much prefer 4 vacations a year. We're heading to Denver for the long weekend. Adam's little (and only) sister is getting married on July 9th and she's going through the temple Saturday to do her endowment. I'm super excited but also know what tasks await my return...so...anxiety!

I'm throwing her bridal shower the following weekend and I certainly have not edited the video for it (of her fiance Ray answering questions about him/her/them) and I have not made the main decoration or worked much on her cookbook - my gift to her.

Speaking of cookbooks...that's why I haven't written much this year - Healthy Mom's Kitchen is going just swimmingly :) I'm in love with every aspect of it - except the parts I would like to hire out...there are a few of those parts. I finally figured out my soul purpose on this Earth (other than being the rockstar mom to my adorable munchkins) and I can't help but work...a lot!

So let's speed up this update...
Sophie pretty much just picked up reading at 4 yrs 2 months and is learning new word faster than I can keep up with her. She's a little bookworm and can be found reading on the couch for over an hour at a time without asking any questions!! She's absolutely incredible and I have no idea why she thinks she should grow up so fast :( I was looking at pics of her when she was 2....I wanted that sweet little lady back. She's quite a bit sassy and too smart for her own good now. If I would enforce afternoon nap/quiet time better, it would reduce the sass, but she's so social. She doesn't want to miss a minute of playtime! There are way too many friends for her to play with around here. Sometimes...I'm jealous of them :)

Landon...OH THE BOY!!! And when I say boy, I mean it in every sense of the word BOY! Balls, growling, running screaming, naked. Did I say naked?! The little man LOVES to be naked, and poop on my kitchen floor and then come upstairs to show off his little mess....the stinker! Her sure loves to take that diaper off. And sit on the potty but only for a millisecond. No attention span, he moves from room to room tearing things a part. But 50% of the time (usually at everyone elses house), he rocks at cleaning up. Mostly at others homes to show off, for sure. He has these looks, these handsome sneaky little devil looks...no, more like, I know I'm cute and I melt your heart looks. Sometimes he's calm and he'll sit on his rocker and look at books. Or maybe a few times a week, he'll sneak down to the basement or over to the living room toy basket and play quietly. Those are treasured moments :)

Our lives are full and they are good. Adam loves his job and his boss, the company, everything about it. The pay is stinky, but we're doing just fine with it. The more important part is how he FEELS at work and he certainly feels beyond appreciated.

I've attended a few amazing conferences this year, including a retreat last weekend that the Power of Moms organized. It was magical and balanced the career woman in me just perfectly :)

That's the skinny for now...I better go to bed so I will have the energy to deal with the get out of the house madness ...I mean calm, leave the house perfectly clean, just in time for kids to nap in the car day tomorrow :)
