Okay, so those of you I don't talk to daily probably don't know that Sophie is obsessed with the potty. She really wants to go potty all day long. I really don't want to potty train her until it gets colder outside and we're in more with less distractions and time to hang out naked for a day or so and go potty every 30 minutes. Plus, I still want to do some research on it to make sure I do it right (which takes time and all I can do right now is read the Twilight series). Despite all of what I WANT, I've been on the lookout for training pants for when I give into her desire to go POTTY! But what the heck is the point? It's only pissing me off. Why, you wonder. Well, because NONE of the general stores (WalMart and Target) EVER have girls training underwear in size 18 months. Seriously, I'm so annoyed. I don't want to have to drive 45 minutes to the nearest Babys R Us to get them. SO ANNOYING! In an area with a bazillion kids, you'd think the stores would be full of baby inventory.
I'll stop complaining now. In other shopping news. I bought running shoes and socks today. Annelise and I are starting the Coutch to 5 K program on FRIDAY!!!! YAY! I'll let you know soon if I'm cut out to be a runner :)

When I started potty training with Ally, she too needed an 18 month. I ended up just buying her underwear in a size 2T and when I washed them I tried to shrink them, so they'd fit her. I also stocked up on carpet cleaner, which I used ALL the time at first. We gave Ally a treat (1 m&m) every time she went pee or poo and that worked well.
We had the same problem with Haven - she didn't start potty training til she was 3 but you know how small she is. Just FYI - when plastic pants get peed on, they absorb the smell. I was never able to get it out so I finally stopped using them. It's a really bad smell & they catch some of the pee, but not all of it. Pleasant, I know! I know there's some controversy about pull-ups but until they're really serious about potty training and not just playing with the idea, that's what I use. Once they get serious, we just use regular underwear and Grove made a computer program that reminds them to sit on the potty every 20 minutes. We do the small piece of candy reward too when they go in the potty. Every kid is super different - good luck with Sophie! I hope it goes quickly!
