So, the night before last, I kept waking up with this sharp pain underneath my rib cage - my upper abdomen. I felt nauseated and my back ached, so I thought I had the flu. I had a headache too. I feel mostly better today except for the stomach pain that comes and goes it's like a sharp punching in the stomach (but not so sharp that I double over). So, I was doing some online research and I think I have an ulcer. But why would I have an ulcer? I take great nutritional supplements, I exercise, and I'm not stressed out. I thought only high stress people got ulcers. What the heck?
So, you would think I would go to the doctor. But, I don't so much care for going to the doctor. Maybe if it gets really bad I will. What do you think? You ever had an ulcer?
I promise to post something about little Sophie in the next couple days with some darling pics. She has a few new favorite things I need to share with all you Sophie fans (or should I say Sophie stalkers...hahaha).

If you have a doctor already, you could call and talk to a nurse and see what she suggests. I do that when I really don't want to go to the doctor. Sometimes the nurses are really helpful and other times their not. Good Luck! Hope you feel better.
My first ulcer's came in second grade!.. but were not discovered until 4th grade. I spent half of my 4th grade year home sick with stomach pain. After several tests and other exams the doc's finally did a scope down my throat and confirmed I had ulcers.. not one but several pin point ulcers. They put me on Zantac, which was Rx but now is over the counter. And Mylanta gel caps to coat my stomach.
I could have no Cola's of any kind and had to avoid all spicy foods.
The Zantac really helped me and somethimes if I am under a lot of stress I will take one and it still helps.
I would suggest going and getting a package of Zantac from the drug stor/ wal-mart etc and see if it helps you for the next few days. If not then maybe see a doctor.
I felt the same way you did. I would be fine and then all of a sudded pain in my stomach. Then fine for a while then pain again... so not fun! good luck
Yeah, with my ulcer I never had back pain or a headache, so that's wierd! Also my ulcer wasn't really shooting pain and felt nothing like getting kicked in the stomache. I say, go to the doctor! But I would say that about anything. =)
i get bleeding ulcers every christmas...or everytime i get REALLY stressed. I feel so bad for you if you do! They are absolutely miserable!!!
I have had plenty of those.. That does not sound like an ulcer to me. It could just be a bug but if it is still there is a week I would go see the doc. Also you can get ulcers no matter how healthy you are, if you have something called H-Pylori in your system it will cause a peptic ulcer that is easily treated with antibiotics.
Wow, that sucks, but have you noticed it's the people who try hard to stay healthy that get the crap. It's the fat lazy people that seem to always be incredibly Obese yet surprisingly healthy.
Mike gets bleeding ulcers. They really hurt him. He avoids spicey foods, takes tums, Zantac, Rx Zantac, and tries to snack off and on all day. They come and go it seems. Sometimes stress sometimes not. I'm so sad you have them, it's terrible. I hope you figure out a way to fix them or deal with them and get better soon!
Ulcers are caused by a bacterial infection (H. pylori), not stress. So if that is what you have, you should get some antibiotics from a doctor.
Sophie looks really cute in your pictures. It has been a while since we have seen her. Maybe if you guys are down our way we can get together again.
Oh and this is Gwen, not Baxter.
