FUN TIMES WITH COUSIN EVIE

Katie (Adam's brother's wife) and her daughter Evie flew in Friday night to stay with us for a few days. Sophie was in bed before I got home from the airport, so she didn't discover they were here until she woke up and heard Evie talking downstairs. She was SO excited! I said, "Sophie, do you want to go downstairs and see Evie?" (Keep in mind, we have a photo album of all Adam's side of the family and when she sees Evie's picture, she laughs.) So Sophie responded by saying uh-huh and laughing and jumping up and down. It was so cute (she's never done that before)! They played well all day today. Evie is 6 weeks younger than Sophie. Normally, when other kids are around, Sophie gets so possessive of her toys and bossy and says no nonstop, but she only said no a few times with Evie today. They are going to be the bestest of friends. At least we hope! Evie will be moving into our basement with her mommy and daddy in a few months, so things are looking well so far. I'm so relieved! And it was especially nice for her to wake up to Evie this morning because this last week or two has been a nightmare with Soph waking up and throwing tantrums in the morning. She hasn't been sleeping so well.

Both girls went to bed easily at 7:15 tonight. Now Adam and I get to go finish the insulation in the basement and clean up for the drywallers who will be here bright and early Monday morning. The basement should be done at the very beginning of June - hooray!

OH HOW FUN!Isn't it so weird how they can get along and play so well with some kids and not with others. It is so weird to think at such a young age they can start to develop those personalities. How fun to have a cousin Sophie loves to be with!
